WHS Parking

Parking at Westside High School is limited, particularly during the school day and special events. A variety of parking options are available, including permitted student and staff parking, designated visitor spaces, and public street parking.

We ask all drivers to follow posted signs and parking regulations, and to be considerate of the neighbors surrounding our campus. This includes keeping driveways, mailboxes, and access points clear and parking only where legally permitted.

Neighbors who encounter parking violations may contact Park Omaha at 402-444-7275 (option 2) or the Mayor's Hotline at 402-444-5555 or hotline@cityofomaha.org. Concerns involving immediate safety issues should be reported to 911.

Permit Parking at WHS

Parking permits are required for students and staff who park on the Westside High School campus. Permit holders must park in the areas designated for their permit type and display their permit in their vehicle as directed. Permits are valid when school is in session.

A student parking permit allows an authorized vehicle to park on campus, but does not guarantee a specific parking space. Vehicles parked without a valid permit or in an unauthorized area may be subject to enforcement under school parking procedures.

Staff parking permits are provided, along with an assigned parking stall. Staff parking stalls are numbered.

Please reach out to the WHS Main Office with questions about parking permits.

Visitor Parking at WHS

Designated visitor parking is available in the Main Entry parking lot, located on the east side of Westside High School. Visitors should park in spaces marked "Visitor" and enter the building through the Main Entrance. Please do not park in spaces designated for staff (marked by numbered stalls) or in emergency areas.

All visitors must enter through the main entry doors. Visitors will check in at the Welcome Center by providing a form of ID. Once checked in, visitors will receive a visitor badge that must be worn while in the building.

Student Parking in Neighborhoods Near WHS

Westside High School values our relationship with the neighbors surrounding our campus. We understand that student parking on residential streets can create concerns, particularly when vehicles block driveways, violate posted restrictions, or affect traffic and visibility.

The school regularly reminds students to park legally, safely, and respectfully. We also enforce all parking rules on school property. However, public streets are under the jurisdiction of the City of Omaha. The district cannot issue citations, tow vehicles, or enforce parking regulations in the surrounding neighborhoods.

Residents who observe a parking violation may contact:

  • Park Omaha: 402-444-7275, option 2
  • Mayor's Hotline: 402-444-5555 or hotline@cityofomaha.org
  • Emergency services: Call 911 if a vehicle poses an immediate safety risk or emergency.

Several streets surrounding Westside High School are designated for regular parking enforcement by Park Omaha. Residents are still encouraged to contact Park Omaha directly when a violation occurs, even if their street is already included in routine patrols.

We will continue to remind students that being a good neighbor includes following posted parking regulations, keeping driveways and access points clear, and treating surrounding properties with respect. We appreciate the continued partnership of our students, families, neighbors, and City of Omaha officials in addressing parking concerns.
