WHS Summer School 2020 Begins June 1; Registration Starts May 1

Summer School will be online June 1 through 24 and offered in two sessions, 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Teachers will only be available to answer questions during the session the class is offered, but students can complete work at any time. WHS Class of 2020 Yard Signs Available April 21

Posted April 15, 2020 Class of 2020 — Please stop by the WHS at the main entrance area on Tuesday, April 21, between 1 and 3 p.m. to pick up a free yard sign the district has purchased for each member of the Class of 2020. Organizers will use social distancing and designated tables that are spread apart.

Theater Director Creates “Sweded” Film Festival For Students

Westside Schools To Remain Closed Through the end of the school year

Updated April 2, 2020 Governor Ricketts issued an order Wednesday night requiring Nebraska schools to operate without students in buildings through May 31. With that, we now know that we will NOT be able to physically come back together this school year; Westside Community Schools will remain closed with our Extended Campus Learning Plan to continue. Sophomores, juniors will take Pre-ACT and ACT on March 24

Posted March 9, 2020 Standardized tests will take place on Tuesday, March 24, for sophomores and juniors.  Juniors will take the ACT; sophomores the Pre-ACT.  Students need to arrive by 8 a.m.  There will be no classes for freshmen or seniors on the testing day. Warrior Theatre’s “The Crucible” Runs March 5, 6 and 7

Posted March 2, 2020 Warrior Theatre will present Arthur Miller’s “The Crucible” Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 5 through 7, at Westside High School.  Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with curtain at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $8.75 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. “The Crucible” takes place during the Salem Witch Trials of the late 17th century.  First staged in 1953, Miller wrote the play as a commentary on McCarthyism.  It won the…
