WHS Graduation Set for Sunday, May 21

Westside High School’s commencement will be held this year at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, at Baxter Arena. This is a sophisticated event that has prestige and dignity. All students, parents, relatives, and friends of graduates are invited and encouraged to attend. Students are not limited on the number of guests invited to attend graduation.

Grades 9-10-11 Awards Night Planned for May 8

An evening of academic recognition for freshmen, sophomores and juniors will take place on Monday, May 8. The awards presentation for freshmen will begin at 5:30 p.m.  Sophomores and juniors will have their presentation starting at 7 p.m. Both events will be in the auditorium. “An Evening of Show Choirs” Set for May 5

“An Evening of Show Choirs” will take place on Friday, May 5, at 7 p.m. in the WHS auditorium.  This is the final time during the 2016-17 school year to see Warrior Express, Simply Irresistible and ATSC in action, as well as hear talented Senior soloists and ATSB.

Kaneko to host Senior Art Show

The WHS Art Department is excited to have its Excellence in Design Senior Art Show hosted by Kaneko.  This opportunity developed from the artist in residence grant given by the Westside Foundation. Artwork will be on display from April 19 until  April 25. The opening reception is set for April 19 at Kaneko, 1111 Jones St.  The event begins at 7 p.m.

Westside Middle School proudly presents “Loserville the Musical!”  It’s 1971, and the geeks are about to inherit the earth in this pop-rock fantasy. Three WHS Students Selected for Computing Award

Service Learning Rummage Sale Set for March 4

The Service Learning Council (SLC) is a student-led group that provides the WHS student body with diverse and rewarding volunteering activities. Each year,  the club holds a rummage sale to fund its community service outreach.  This year’s rummage sale will take place Saturday, March 4, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the Courtyard.
